FSC has published two generic derogations in order to support certificate holders with their use of the FSC marks.

The derogation DER-STD-50-001_03 allows certificate holders using either FSC-STD-50-001 V2-1 or V3-0 to omit the www. from the FSC website address on the FSC label. It also allows certificate holders to increase the size of certain specific label elements to ensure legibility.

The derogation DER-STD-50-001_04 allows certificate holders using either V2-1 or V3-0 to use a reduced size of the portrait label and decrease the size and spacing between label elements, enabling the FSC label to fit on small products.

What does this mean for Certification Bodies?

These derogations provide additional flexibility when reviewing and approving FSC trademark artworks for their clients. These derogations apply to certificate holders using either FSC-STD-50-001 V2-1 or V3-0 and do not require certificate holders to transition to V3-0 in order to apply them.
