FSC at the IUFRO Congress 2024

Numerous FSC staff to present and engage in the event  gathering the world’s foremost experts in forest research

The IUFRO World Congress, held at 5-year intervals, is one of the largest global forest events attended by scientists and various stakeholders from all parts of the world.

FSC has been a member of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) for many years. FSC is an event partner at the XXVI IUFRO congress with a delegation of 30 staff giving key research presentations open to engage with congress participants.

FSC booth – a place for encounters

FSC will welcome the congress visitors at its booth A06-30 next to the ‘Green Jobs’ area, where everyone is invited to come by for a chat or to collect materials about FSC. We welcome you to attend our events (programme below); visit and speak to our delegation. FSC side event

On Monday 24 June at 18.00 - 20.00 FSC is holding an event which will be an opportunity for the research community to learn about developments in the FSC system. It will be an opportunity to reflect on how the FSC has evolved from a certification scheme to forest steward over the last 30 years.

Scientists are invited to share their plans for FSC research and their expectations and needs for the FSC.

The event is upon invitation only.

FSC presence in the programme

From Monday to Friday, FSC delegation will present on topics ranging from communications, through gender and diversity, circularity, decent work and stakeholder engagement to integrated forest management, international policies and ecosystem services.
