To ensure alignment with the latest normative requirements in the standards General Requirements for Certification Bodies - CBs (FSC-STD-20-001 V5-0) and Controlled Forest Management – CFM (FSC-STD-30-010 V3-0), FSC has released enhanced versions of the Forest Management (FM) Digital Audit Reporting (DAR) templates.
- The updated CFM standard (FSC-STD-30-010 V3-0) was published on 1 January 2024, and became effective on 1 July 2024. It will be mandatory for CBs from 1 January 2026. The updated DAR template aligns with the CFM standard and includes non-mandatory fields.
- The standard on General Requirements for CBs (FSC-STD-20-001 V5-0) was approved on 27 February 2025, and published on 1 April 2025. It introduces changes to how non-conformities (NCs) are closed and recorded in the system. The transition period begins on 1 October 2025, and it will end in March 2027.
The enhanced version of DAR includes two templates based on the CFM standard that entered into force on 1 July 2024. CBs can select and use the version that best fits their operational needs and audit schedules. Both templates can be used immediately:
- DAR Template v1.7.2 (CFM updates only) – for CBs that certify against the CFM standard (FSC-STD-30-010 V3-0) and have not yet transitioned to the updated CBs standard (FSC-STD-20-001 V5-0). This template will be mandatory from 1 January 2026.
- DAR Template v1.8.0 (CFM + NC updates) – for CBs that have transitioned to the updated CBs standard (FSC-STD-20-001 V5-0),and also apply the CFM standard (FSC-STD-30-010 V3-0). This version will be mandatory from 1 April 2027.
Previous versions of the DAR (older than 1.7.2) can be used by CBs that don’t certify against the CFM standard (FSC-STD-30-010 V3-0) and have not yet transitioned to the CBs standard (FSC-STD-20-001 V5-0) . CBs that certify against the CFM standard (FSC-STD-30-010 V3-0) and have not yet transitioned to the CB standard (FSC-STD-20-001 V5-0) can use previous DAR versions until 31 December 2025.
