Partial revision on FSC Forest Stewardship Standard (FSS) for Cameroon

FSC Policy and Performance Unit (P&P) is pleased to announce the publication of V2-1 of FSC Forest Stewardship Standard for Cameroon (FSC-STD-CMR-02.1-2026 EN) based on FSC Principles and Criteria V5-3. The effective date of the standard is 15 July 2026.   

This partial revision incorporates NTFPs into the scope of the standard and updates the indicators under Criteria 4.2, 4.8, 6.9, 6.10, 6.11, and 10.7, as per the P&C V5-3 and IGI V2-1. Sections B.3 and B.6 have been added to provide further normative guidance.   

CBs operating in Cameroon are required to inform all their clients about the English (official) version of the FSC standard immediately. The transition period of the standard will be 18 (eighteen) months from the effective date, ending on 14 January 2028. Existing certificate holders will need to be audited against the new standard as applicable, within 18 months of the effective date, to retain their certification status.    

When using this FSC standard, certification bodies shall address major and minor nonconformities as usual. The applicable version of FSC standard FSC-STD-20-001 determines the conditions for closing non-conformities.
