FSC’s Board of Directors has approved the chamber‑balanced Working Group to revise the Principles & Criteria (P&C) and International Generic Indicators (IGIs), formally launching the drafting phase of FSC’s core forest management requirements.
The six‑member Working Group reflects balanced representation across social, environmental, and economic chambers, as well as Global South and Global North, and will be supported by non‑voting experts, a chairperson, Board and PSC liaisons, and a facilitator. Youth observers from IFSA and an independent researcher will participate in a non‑voting capacity.
The Terms of Reference and the Conceptual Phase Consultation Report are now available, and four Consultative Forums (Forest Managers, Indigenous Peoples, IFLs, NTFPs) will be established to gather targeted input throughout the process. Click here to see the full news article.
