FSC has published a new Interpretation related to the Policy for Association (INT_POL-01-004_03) on page 5 of the Interpretations of the Normative Framework - General.
This Interpretation addresses the applicability of clause 1.c) of the Policy for Association V3-0 (FSC-POL-01-004 V3-0) in countries where relevant International Labour Organization's (ILO) fundamental conventions have not yet been ratified.
Clause 1.c) lists the following as an unacceptable activity: the violation of workers’ rights and principles defined in the 1998 ILO Declaration within the forestry or forest products sector. This Interpretation will be useful for determining whether an activity is considered an "unacceptable activity" under clause 1.c) of the Policy for Association V3-0.
