Your Certification Body confirms the details of the Primary Contact for the Certificate. This step is crucial for FSC to be assured of their identity before a login can be created, and prevents fraudulent access.

Upon completion of the above, the Primary Contact is automatically invited to use FSC Connect and their identity is authenticated. Upon completion the Primary Contact has an account in FSC Connect.

The Primary Contact can create logins on FSC Connect for other staff in their organisation using the User Management tool in FSC Connect.

Those other staff then receive invitations and complete the same process as the Primary Contact in step 2.

If your organisation has been invited to use FSC Trace then the Primary Contact will automatically be permissioned to use the application, and can grant the same rights to other staff in the same User Management tool as is used in of step 3.

Look for the FSC Trace icon in the app pallet.



If your organisation has signed an Electronic Trademark Licence Agreement with FSC then you have already completed steps 1 and 2. If you are the Primary Contact you can proceed with step 3. If you are not the Primary Contact you need to liaise with that person internally in your organisation to ask them to set you up with an account and grant you permission to use FSC Trace on behalf of your organisation. 

If your organisation has not started the process to sign an Electronic Trademark Licence Agreement, then you will first need to contact the Certification Body who conducts annual audits of your organisation against the FSC standard, and ask them to initiate that process. You can begin to use FSC Trace as soon as the Primary Contact has set up their account on FSC Connect – you do not need to wait until the Electronic Trademark Licence Agreement has been signed.
