This module is for voluntary use by organizations applying for or holding FSC certification to extend their certification scope in order to align with the Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 or “EUDR”. The FSC Regulatory Module empowers users to navigate the regulatory landscape effectively, supporting both legal compliance and sustainability best practices. The FSC Regulatory Module sets the framework and requirements to: introduce a due diligence system to support EUDR compliance, including information collection, risk assessment and risk mitigation, gather and transmit precise information on the origin of products, including geolocation and time of production, and ensure that only deforestation-free material enters the FSC chain of custody.
This standard applies to forest management-accredited certification bodies assessing conformity with the applicable FSC normative requirements during controlled forest management evaluations including pre-evaluations, main evaluations, surveillance evaluations and step-up evaluations of single management units, forest management groups, and single legal entities managing multiple management units.
This standard defines the normative requirements for FSC accreditation for controlled forest management certification.
This standard specifies the requirements for FSC chain of custody (CoC) certification of projects. For the purposes of this standard a project is defined as the production or renovation of a construction or civil engineering project (e.g. an office building, a condominium of houses, event infrastructure such as concert stages, stand in a trade fair, timber bridge), individual art or decorative object (e.g. sculpture), or transport vehicle (e.g. maritime vessels) that is made of or contains forest-based materials.
This standard specifies the requirements applicable at the level of the Management Unit (MU) that allows persons or entities to demonstrate that the products supplied from that MU come from controlled forest management (CFM). Controlled forest management respects and upholds legality and customary and human rights, including The ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. It also maintains or enhances social, cultural, environmental, and High Conservation Values (HCV) of the forests and prevents deforestation and degradation - and is free of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The FSC International Center has been asked to provide guidance on several cases in which: A There are impacts on a forest management area which are beyond the full control of the forest managers, or B There are parts of a forest management area for which the management objectives do not meet the requirements for certification, but the managers wish to seek certification for the remaining areas.
This addendum lists the national and regional risk assessments that have been developed in accordance with the process specified in FSC-PRO-60-002 and have been evaluated and approved by FSC.
The Continuous Improvement Procedure offers a flexible way for The Organization managing small or low intensity managed forest (SLIMF) or community forests, within or outside a group, to access FSC forest management certification, by conforming to the applicable FSC standard progressively throughout the first certification cycle comprised of five (5) years or, in case of group members, the first 5 years of the group membership.
The objective of this procedure is to provide requirements to ensure consistent and robust assessment of risks for sourcing material from certain supply areas
The present document was developed in accordance with FSC's normative document for the development and maintenance of Forest Stewardship Standards. It contains certification requirements for all forest operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Small and Low Intensity Managed Forests. Revisions of Forest Stewardship Standards are ongoing, and all existing standards will be transferred to the revised Principles & Criteria version 5-2. All standards are valid until replaced by a new Forest Stewardship Standard.
